Actionable Intelligence: CRE Pro’sTalk “Data” at BOMA

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE DATA. AS THE COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY RIDES A WAVE OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES, THEY ARE BEING DROWNED IN OPERATIONAL DATA THAT THEY ARE ILL-EQUIPPED TO MANAGE

Building Engines, global provider of comprehensive web-based and mobile property and tenant management solutions, announced that Senior Vice President, Scott Sidman, will moderate a panel of leading commercial real estate owners, managers and technology providers at the upcoming BOMA International Every Building Conference & Expo on June 25. The panel will discuss the hurdles surrounding the recent data revolution and provide tangible examples for mining the mountain of operational data for “actionable intelligence,” working with technology partners and establishing baseline performance goals.

The BOMA International Every Building Conference & Expo in San Diego, CA on June 23-25 is the most comprehensive educational conference in the industry, with more than 40 expert-led sessions providing strategies for attracting and retaining tenants, maximizing asset value and improving efficiency. In the session, Actionable Intelligence: The Key to Improved Tenant Service & Property Operations, Sidman will moderate a panel of leading property managers and Building Engines clients – including Curtis Mummau, Senior Vice President at Thalhimer Cushman Wakefield, Yvonne Apodaca, Vice President of Asset Management at Beacon Capital Partners, and Jim Meacham, P.E., Principal at Altura Associates – to illustrate how to collect and sort through the pool of operations management data for “actionable intelligence” that can provide operating insight to improve tenant service, predictive maintenance, staff efficiency and overall performance.

Sidman was also featured in the May 2013 issue of Buildings Magazine, where he talks about the power of utilizing data for proactive management, and the infinite value that technology can bring to operations and tenant service. Read the full article, Technology-Driven FM, where Scott and other BOMA members talk about the increasing role of technology in the Commercial Real Estate industry.

“The power of new CRE technologies is not just about monitoring operations and collecting data. It’s about turning data into actionable intelligence that allows you to do things like track service delivery against benchmarks and manage operational issues proactively,” Sidman explains.
