BEI Taps New VP of Product Management, Jody Saarmaa

Saarmaa will increase value to BEI clients through strategic and practical product development.

Building Engines, a provider of comprehensive web and mobile property management software for the commercial real estate industry, is excited to welcome Jody Saarmaa in the new position of Vice President of Product Management. She will oversee the pursuit, development, and execution of all strategic and tactical initiatives on the Building Engines Product Roadmap. 

Saarmaa will meet regularly with Building Engines’ client-users to better understand market needs, as well asintroduce and test new ideas for product development. She will also work with the Sales and Client Service teams, as well as the balance of the Building Engines Senior Team, to identify, articulate and elucidate the company’s product path. Her primary charge is to constantly advocate for client value through product excellence.

Saarmaa has a track record of understanding customer needs, synthesizing market opportunities, and leveraging resources to create and execute focused growth strategies. She brings over 25 years’ experience in high tech, including roles in sales, marketing, software engineering, and product management. An executive and innovator with a passion for bringing new products to market, she drove product strategy and delivery at several Boston-area high growth firms including Liquid Machines (acquired by Check Point Software Technologies), High Street Partners, and Active Control eXperts (acquired by Cymer). 

Saarmaa holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management with concentrations in Marketing and Finance, and a BS in Computer Science and Economics from Duke University.

In addition, Saarmaa is a long-time supporter of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, where she currently serves on the Board of Overseers.
