Commerce Upgrades to BEI for Innovation and Service

Commerce Real Estate Solutions today announced the selection of Building Engines to replace a legacy system throughout their entire portfolio. The organization, which manages over four million square feet of commercial, retail and industrial property and is among the top commercial real estate brokerage firms in the Inter-mountain and Pacific Northwest region, wanted to significantly upgrade the level of functionality, reliability and service provided by their current operations management provider.

Commerce selected Building Engines for its strong industry reputation, history for successful conversions from legacy systems and a broad platform that includes advanced incident and inspection tracking and tenant service delivery (including the ability to monitor tenant satisfaction in real time, as well as set service delivery benchmarks and targets).

The new platform is a strategic advantage for Commerce. The detailed reporting and tenant feedback functionality provides great insight into tenant satisfaction and allows us to go to owners and tenants and say ‘this is what we can do for you.’

-David Colucci, Director of Engineering-Asset Services

In addition to the enhanced functionality and reliability provided by the Building Engines platform, Commerce required Building Engines to migrate all historical building data within an aggressive 30-day deployment schedule as it transitioned from its old system. “Rapid, successful deployment is one of our core strenths,” said Scott Sidman, SVP at Building Engines. “We know that successful deployment and training are key to maximizing return from any software system. It requires a clear project schedule, attainable milestones, and participation from senior management,” continued Sidman. “We make it our business to get our clients up and operating as quickly as possible.”

Building Engines successfully deployed its platform- including Work Order, COI, Tenant Portal and Mobile– throughout Commerce’s four million square foot portfolio within the 30 day window, training all Commerce employees and tenants. “The Building Engines staff was professional and responsive throughout the deployment,” said Colucci. “They were accessible, very communicative, and kept the project on schedule,” echoed Heather Long, Asst. Project Manager of Asset Services at Commerce. Colucci cites Building Engines as a strategic advantage for his company. With Building Engines, Commerce Real Estate Solutions has the tools, resources and experience to provide world class service to investment and corporate real estate clients on a global basis.
