David Osborn, JD - President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Osborn is a founder of the company and has over fifteen years experience working in early-stage companies within the technology sector. As CFO and Vice President of Operations at Milestone Systems, Inc., a venture funded start-up, he helped design and develop a multi-carrier desktop shipping system targeted at the small office and home office market. During his tenure, Mr. Osborn managed all operations of the company and he helped to negotiate and secure strategic partnerships with multinational corporations such as Pitney Bowes Inc, Airborne Express, and DHL International. Prior to Building Engines, Mr. Osborn developed a remote Internet-based monitoring system for the residential real estate market known as "iWitness." Mr. Osborn also has over two decades of legal experience, serving as in-house corporate counsel to early stage companies, as an environmental litigator in the private sector. Also, as an intern and law clerk to the State of Maine Supreme Judicial Court in Portland and The Maine Superior Court, in Bangor, Maine. Mr. Osborn is a member of the Maine and Massachusetts Bar Associations and affiliated with a number of organizations with a primary focus in real estate.

Tim R. Kelly - Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Kelly is the senior engineer overseeing the development, communications and reporting components of all projects. He has over twenty years of engineering experience. Before Building Engines, Mr. Kelly served as a Principal Software Engineer for Webhire, Inc., where he tuned and debugged their proprietary spidering technology and developed replacement software for their Recruiter System. Prior to Webhire, Mr. Kelly contracted as a Senior Oracle developer for Lifeline Systems, Inc. to work on post implementation issues of legacy system replacement project. As a Senior Architect and member of IBM Global Services project in Portsmouth, N.H, Mr. Kelly also lead a team of ten developers in Analysis and Design of client architecture for a Distributed Object system. He is a graduate of Bentley College with a major in Computer Information Systems.

Scott E. Sidman - Vice President, Sales & Marketing

Mr. Sidman is an established sales executive with a diverse entrepreneurial background and experience developing and implementing early stage business strategies. Prior to Building Engines, Mr. Sidman was a partner at Cedona Technologies, LLC where he lead the company's strategic efforts in selling event management and media archival tools to hospitality, individual consumers, and large national distribution firms. Before Cedona, he conceived and developed the business strategy for Access Solutions International; a foreign trade consulting company guiding clients in their US - Brazilian import/export and real estate transactions. He also previously founded and managed a Boston-based commercial real estate services firm. Mr. Sidman has a B.S. from Cornell University and brings considerable sales and business development experience to the team.

Kyle K. Maikath - Vice President, Client Service & Support

Mr. Maikath is in charge of our client support and services division. His primary duties are geared toward ensuring client satisfaction, but he also works closely with both the sales and development teams to collect market feedback and drive product direction appropriately. Prior to joining Building Engines, Mr. Maikath was a Technical Sales and Support Representative for MaxSea Marine Software which provided bottom mapping software to commercial fishing boats and weather routing, for large off shore yachts. He was an integral part in the company’s buyout by Japanese based Furuno. Mr. Maikath holds a BA in Biology from the University of Vermont and spent a year working for the National Marine Fisheries Service in Hawaii after college as an Observer, collecting data aboard the long-line tuna boats.

Jim Gray- Vice President, Product

Mr. Gray is a seasoned software leader with a diverse background and a history of building great teams and driving results.  He is responsible for Engineering, Operations and Product Management at Building Engines.

Prior to joining Building Engines, Jim was Director of Engineering at Liquid Machines, a market leader in the Enterprise Rights Management space.  In this role, he was responsible for driving engineering efforts, building a highly successful 25-person off-shore team, and guiding the company through successful acquisition by Check Point Software. 

Previously, Jim was a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Iron Mountain Digital. In this role, he was responsible for a 30 person development staff and all software development for EVAA - Iron Mountain's Digital Archive, an early SaaS product and very large scale content/meta-data repository.

He holds a Bachelor's degree from Boston University and is an ardent Agile practitioner.

Mat Brogie- Director, Mobile Strategy

Mat Brogie is Building Engiines' resident mobility expert. As Building Engines’ Director of Mobile Strategy, and founder of MobilityCIO, Mat helps our clients assess and select the right mobile deployment strategy for their organization, creating a mobile strategy that is in alignment with their organizational objectives. As part of your deployment, Mat will actively assess your mobility requirements; recommend the most suitable platform for your mobile workers, help to tailor the Building Engines mobile solution to your organizational needs and regularly assess the usage and effectiveness of the mobile components of your Building Engines System. Mobility is the future of operations management and Building Engines provides you with expert guidance as your organization develops.

Mat has over 25 years of high tech and business process experience, with over 10 years specifically focused on Mobile Application design and work process optimization. As part of the founding team of Eleven Technology, Mat was responsible for all aspects of the mobile design and implementation efforts for global scale Mobility projects at Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble, and lead the design of Eleven’s core Field Service and Direct Store Delivery solutions. Mat is the founder and Principal Consultant at MobilityCIO, a Boston based consulting firm focused on developing and executing mobile strategies for diverse enterprises. Mat earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University.
