BEI Partners With Building Impact

Through volunteer and donation efforts, the Building Engines team members hope to impact the lives of those in need where they work and live

Building Engines, a provider of comprehensive web and mobile property management software for the commercial real estate industry, has partnered with the non-profit organization Building Impact to serve the Boston community through volunteer work and donations.

Building Impact was co-founded by long-time Building Engines client Kevin McCall of Paradigm Properties with the mission to strengthen communities by providing companies and individuals with the knowledge and opportunities to volunteer, donate, and connect in the buildings where they work and live. Building Impact advances the work of over 40 Greater Boston nonprofit organizations by making volunteering convenient, yet meaningful for busy employees.

On Thursday, November 14, Building Engines enjoyed their first philanthropic event: a company-wide afternoon of volunteering in downtown Boston, where they participated in meal service for over 300 homeless men. The dinner took place at the Pine Street Inn, whose mission is to build a community of respect and hope for each guest it serves; to be a resource through which neighbors and friends can help to meet the basic needs of others; and to serve as a national leader in the fight to end homelessness.

“Building Engines is very pleased to be a new Building Impact partner member,” said CEO, David Osborn. “Building Impact’s mission is directly related to one of our corporate goals to take an active role in our community that reflects our growth and values as a company. Additionally, we are proud of our affiliation with the commercial real estate industry and felt it was important to align our efforts with those of our clients and help strengthen the industry’s charitable efforts. We are particularly happy to support the Pine Street Inn on our initial company community service outing through Building Impact. We have a close relationship with the organization and are individually and organizationally aware of issues related to homelessness, particularly as we head into the cold months ahead. These issues impact us all and the committed people of the Pine Street Inn provide a tremendous service that we respect and admire. It was a privilege to make a small contribution to their effort and guests and we look forward to supporting them in the future.”

Next up: Building Engines is participating in Community Servings’ annual “Pie in the Sky” event. Each November, Boston’s best restaurants, bakeries, caterers and hotels donate thousands of pies that over 600 volunteers then sell to family, friends and colleagues. Each pie costs $25, providing a week’s worth of hearty home-delivered meals to a Community Servings’ client and a tasty Thanksgiving treat to the buyer.
