Accomplished Product Leader Joins High-Growth Firm; Shares Vision for Future of CRE Operations Technology
Building Engines, the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) industry’s innovation leader for property management solutions, today announces the appointment of Daniel Cozza to Chief Product Officer. In his role, he will oversee all product development, including the platform’s forthcoming capabilities in the areas of tenant satisfaction and data-driven CRE operations.
“Daniel is a leader in his own right, having driven product innovation at Vela Systems and leading the real estate technology division at Autodesk,” says Building Engines CEO, Tim Curran, who worked alongside Cozza at Vela Systems. “He is a visionary product leader and decisive manager, and I’m thrilled to be working with him again to ignite exciting new possibilities for commercial real estate leaders.”
“We’re excited to welcome Daniel to the Building Engines team following the appointment of Tim Curran as CEO. His entrepreneurial experience will serve our high-growth environment well,” said Deepak Sindwani, Managing Partner at Wavecrest Growth Partners. “We’re excited to have Tim and Daniel join back together and partner at Building Engines given their track record of previous success, their understanding of our industry, and their acumen for rapid growth.”
Cozza brings over 20 years of experience in technology leadership to the Company, most recently serving as Chief Technology Officer of BlueCielo ECM Solutions. Prior, he led the Construction business at Autodesk, preceded by his role as CTO of Vela Systems, which was acquired by Autodesk (ADSK) in 2012. Cozza has a Bachelor’s of Science in both Mathematics and Computer Science from Tufts University.
The announcement comes on the heels of the company’s appointment of Tim Curran to CEO (https://www.buildingengines.com/about-us/news/building-engines-names-tim-curran-ceo) in accordance with planned executive leadership changes.
Future Property Management Capabilities from Building Engines
“I’m thrilled to join the Building Engines team,” says Cozza. “We’re at the forefront of an operations revolution in the real estate industry, and my focus will be providing CRE owners and managers with the easy-to-use, reliable tools required to become best-in-class, improve asset value, and ensure high performance.”
Building Engines’ recent original CRE benchmarking research found a correlation between operational best practices and strong asset performance and value, notably:
Over 80% of High Performers seek regular feedback on tenant satisfaction, as sentiment can mean the difference between a lease renewal and months of vacancy. New Building Engines capabilities will enable organizations to monitor tenant sentiment on an ongoing basis.
High-performing buildings were found to be 1.6x more likely to track their performance against tenant service level agreements. The research found that those properties who succeed are able to prove it with data. Forthcoming Building Engines features will track operations against peer-based and best-practice benchmarking data, to guide every building towards its optimal performance.
High Performers were found to use multiple channels to get information to and from tenants. This year, Building Engines expanded tenant mobile capabilities with its enhanced tenant services mobile app, The Hive (https://www.buildingengines.com/about-us/news/building-engines-announces-enhanced-tenant-services-mobile-app-hive).
More forthcoming product developments will be announced in the first half of 2018. Those interested in learning more are invited to request a conversation here: https://www.buildingengines.com/get-started.
