Building Engines, the Commercial Real Estate industry’s innovation leader for property management solutions, today announced the appointment of current board member and company advisor Tim Curran to Chief Executive Officer. Founder David Osborn, who led Building Engines’ consistent growth from its inception, will remain as Board Chairman and continue to advise on long-term vision and strategy for the organization.

“I’m thrilled that such a high caliber and successful executive will lead our team forward,” said Osborn. “Tim’s management style, broad skill set and high character will undoubtedly enhance revenue growth and drive product innovation. His counsel as an advisor and board member to the business has already contributed to many of our recent successes. David’s leadership and vision over the last seventeen years has established and cultivated a transformational solution for hundreds of commercial real estate firms. I’m excited to work with the talented Building Engines team to build upon the company’s accomplishments, and lead the company into the future.”

“We’re delighted to welcome Tim to the CEO seat at Building Engines,” said Deepak Sindwani, Managing Partner at Wavecrest Growth Partners. “From our collaboration as board members, we’re confident his proven leadership skills, SaaS expertise, and keen go-to-market acumen will deliver outstanding value to the company and its customers. We’re excited about Tim and David’s partnership to help the company grow its revenue and product development momentum.”

Curran is the former CEO of Vela Systems, Inc., a field management software company in the architecture, engineering and construction industry, which was acquired by Autodesk (ADSK) in June 2012. He served as the CEO of Eleven Technology, Inc., a mobile application software company in the consumer packaged goods market, acquired by Trimble (TRMB) in 2006.
