Mobile Usage and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) in Commercial Real Estate (CRE)

The concept of accessing the Internet from anywhere, at any time, has greatly impacted commercial real estate professionals – how they do business, communicate with tenants, and manage their workforces. Here at Building Engines we are always emphasizing the need for property owners and managers to have a mobile strategy in place to efficiently run their buildings and stand out among their peers. We’ve written blog posts. And white papers. And best practice guides.

To further validate our point, inMotion Real Estate Media‘s recent survey revealed that mobile device usage in the commercial real estate sector grew 46% from 2012 to 2013. In addition, the survey data showed that visits to commercial real estate websites from mobile devices have risen to record levels (now 1 in 8), and year-on-year trends show no sign of stopping. So if you don’t have a property website in place now, it’s probably time to get on it! (Need help getting started? Check out our Guide to Property Websites for Commercial Real Estate here.)
