Meet the Staff: Melvin Hill, Billing & Sales Order Operations Analyst

We take great pride in what we create here at Building Engines, but it is the people who stand behind that product that help to make it so amazing.

One such “behind-the-scenes” man is Melvin Hill. Winner of one of our 2015 Building Engines Mission Awards for “being an outstanding role model;” Melvin’s work ethic and drive keeps Building Engines running smoothly, with timely billing to help keep our finances on track.

We caught up with Melvin to talk music, kittens, and Building Engines:

Explain your role at Building Engines.

I am the Billing and Sales Order Operations Analyst. I am responsible for all invoicing and collection processes. If you have any questions regarding invoices or making a payment, please contact me: mhill@buildingengines.com!

What brought you to Building Engines?

The chance to be an influential part of a successful, profitable company experiencing massive growth year over year. I’ve seen the staff double in size since I was hired 18 months ago.

What are 3 words you’d use to describe yourself?

Motivated… Change is good! I continuously strive to improve processes and start new initiatives focused on timeliness and efficiency, whenever possible.

Musical… Don’t be surprised to hear me singing songs around the office!

Methodical… Innovation requires out-the-box thinking and brainstorming all probable effects & outcomes, especially to devise pre-emptive strikes against foreseen issues whenever possible.

3 words to describe Building Engines?

Innovative… We have a team dedicated to releasing new enhancements all the time!

Growing… Our client base keeps growing! We are fortunate to have the opportunity to ease the hassles of work order & tenant management for more and more people every year.

Fun… It’s a great place to work and the coworkers here are wonderful! We have many different events that we plan throughout the year via the FUN Committee.

What one thing is the key to your success at Building Engines?

Dedication to the TEAM. We are all one cohesive unit and I live by the motto: “T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More!” Strive to bring out the best in yourself and others.

In your opinion, best BE company event and why?

Tasty Tuesdays! Every Tuesday, we have a company-provided luncheon where everyone in the company comes together and takes the lunch hour to chat and catch up.
