Building Engines Announces Winners of 2019 Property Hero Awards

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

Annual Award Recognizes Best-in-Class Commercial Property Management and Maintenance

Building Engines, the commercial real estate (CRE) industry’s innovation leader in SaaS property management solutions, today announced the winners of the 2019 Property Hero Awards. This annual awards program recognizes forward-thinking maintenance and management leaders who deliver an outstanding tenant experience and exemplify best-in-class property operations.

An industry-wide call for Property Heroes generated over 200 peer nominations across two categories – Maintenance Hero and Management Hero. 20 finalists were then selected by a judging committee. Nearly 800 votes were cast from the greater community of CRE professionals and tenants, deciding a runner-up and winner for each category.

Maintenance Heroes

The 2019 Maintenance Hero grand prize winner is Viktor Grant, Building Operator at First Capital Realty.

According to his nomination, “Viktor knows the meaning of customer service, not only to his tenants but his colleagues as well. His work ethic, commitment, and dedication make him a truly reliable and accountable employee as he always puts in 110% every single day!”

The runner-up in the 2019 Maintenance Hero award was awarded to Dale Harris from Highwoods Properties. His peers who nominated him explained, “Dale’s title of Maintenance Manager is so underrated for what he actually does. His true title should be Building Extraordinaire.”

They also noted, “Dale knows every building in the portfolio inside and out, top to bottom, and even everything under the ground (if that’s possible!) His commitment to making sure our customers are happy and buildings are running right is what makes him the perfect candidate for this Maintenance Hero title.”

They add, “Cedar uses the Building Engines platform to administer and manage our property inspections, work orders, certificate of insurance (for both tenants and vendors,) and tenant communications for our over 1000 tenants. “A strong focus on the tenant experience and satisfaction is a common thread we saw from the two hundred nominations we received for the 2019 Property Hero Awards,” said Building Engines Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, Scott Sidman. “We couldn’t be more proud to equip these heroes with the technology they need to successfully manage their operations and tenant relationships. At the end of the day, a positive tenant experience depends on far more than just technology, it’s truly thanks to all the property heroes at each CRE building. Congratulations to the winners and all who were nominated!”
